An update to my prior post. Jason Calacanis writes that Robert Scoble introduced him to the folks in the Windows Mobile …

group so they could peacefully work out their legal issues. This certainly points to Scoble’s rising influence. After Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer I believe Scoble is the third most widely recognized personality in Redmond.

“I agree with you, Steve, but only as it relates to the blogosphere. Robert was a big help to me in gaining access to the right people at Microsoft to resolve an issue about video ads in MSN Video. At the time, I felt he was functioning in the conduit role that PR often plays with the MSM.

Going through the normal doors got me nowhere, but Robert knows who I am and recognized (because he’s Internet savvy) that my request was legit.

I love the guy. He personifies new media PR.”
