National Lampoon Launches Video Network
National Lampoon is moving into the online video space with their launch of a video network.
They have struck distribution deals with a number of companies. They include Veoh, Joost, Handheld Entertainment, GoFish, Lycos, BiggyTV and YouTube. In addition they have existing deals with AOL Video and Brightcove.
The Network’s launch and initial syndication partners were announced today by National Lampoon Chief Executive Officer Daniel Laikin.
"Formation of the National Lampoon Video Network reinforces our commitment to the marketplace, to original comedy content, and to our young adult audience," Laikin said.
"Our ability to come out of the gate with such a prestigious, broad-based group of distribution partners also reflects a clear acknowledgement that we, our brand, and our content are highly valuable and relevant today," he added.
All National Lampoon content available on their distribution partner’s platforms will be ad supported and free to viewers. Content will be available in the U.S. and globally and will feature both short and long-form clips.
"We want to ensure that National Lampoon content is always timely and accessible, which in today’s climate with our college audience means being online and across as many platforms as possible," stated Laikin.
