In an effort to go “green” google is hosting a map service in conjunction with the earth day network.

Not terribly exciting to yours truly, the mashup does a nice job of integrating video into the pop-up windows associated with push pins. From the EDN… The maps enable users to discover green travel options by featuring guided virtual video tours of environmentally friendly destinations, including organic spas, hotels, restaurants, eco car rentals, and green family friendly activities such as nature museums and horseback riding outposts. These Summer of Green mash-ups use the Google Maps API to create an overlay of video clips on the city maps, capturing green locations recommended by Earth Day Network, the premier global environmental advocacy organization.
