Yahoo Chief Executive Carol Bartz is expected to announce a major management reorganization sometime this week.

Bartz sent a memo to employees on Friday in which she said, "Get well-rested, because next week’s a biggie," All Things Digital reported. It’s likely the reorganization announcement will come on Wednesday.

It’s rumored that Chief Technology Officer Aristotle Balogh may be put in charge of product strategy and management along with product technology. Hilary Schneider, who is head of Yahoo’s advertising, publishing and audience groups in the U.S., could become head of North America.

Yahoo will likely consolidate its European, Asian and emerging markets divisions under one boss. Bartz is also looking for a chief marketing officer and other senior management.

The goal of the restructuring would be to centralize product development and speed up decision-making. Currently the majority of Yahoo’s media properties are run individually by separate divisions.

In a conference call with analysts last month, Bartz emphasized the need of reorganization to improve Yahoo’s performance. "There are fundamental issues that need to be addressed. I intend to move quickly to tackle these core issues."

Bartz has been Yahoo’s CEO for only about six weeks. She replaced Yahoo co-founder Jerry Yang who stepped down in November.
