Siebel CRM solutions Positioned as Leader in META Group’s 2004 METAspectrum Vendor Analysis

    September 22, 2004

Siebel Systems today announced that its CRM solutions are positioned in the leader category in META Group’s 2004 METAspectrum(SM) vendor analysis for CRM application suites.

Leadership status is the highest ranking awarded by META Group. Siebel Systems was specifically recognized for excellence in several key areas, including vision/strategy, mind share, ecosystem investment strategy, feature/function depth, and vertical coverage.

For this evaluation, META Group classifies CRM application suites as comprising operational, analytical, and collaborative capabilities that help companies manage and optimize their customer relationships. Specifically, META Group defines CRM suites as applications that enable companies to manage customer-related information and data; automate front-office business processes across sales, marketing, and service; optimize customer transactions and interactions across channels; and understand and act on customer behavior patterns. META Group believes that legacy systems nearing end-of-life will motivate organizations to upgrade to next-generation CRM architectures. Moreover, META Group expects that by 2006, CRM transformations will become strategic for mainstream organizations, supported by industry-specific products, service-oriented architectures, and integration frameworks.

“Enterprises today want to invest in comprehensive CRM application suites that provide a broad range of technologies to support implementation of customer life cycle patterns and business processes across the organization,” said Liz Roche, Vice President, Technology Research Services, META Group. “META Group evaluated Siebel Systems on its ability to deliver on 50 criteria that matter most to customers evaluating CRM solutions. Siebel Systems clearly demonstrates leadership in these key areas. In fact, the real battle is for the number two spot.”

“Siebel Systems continues to raise the bar in CRM leadership by demonstrating product innovation and customer successes across industries,” said David Schmaier, Executive Vice President, Siebel Systems. “With its comprehensive evaluation criteria spanning all facets of CRM application suites — from technology and industry focus to market share and financial strength — META Group’s evaluation sets the highest standards for CRM providers.
