The top five online video sites switched their ranking order and site traffic in October, according to Compete.

Online Video Traffic Drops 6 %YouTube remained dominant, growing 1 percent in October to 213 million visits on almost 52 million unique visitors. MSN/Live Video grew as well, up more than one-quarter to 35 million visits by 21 million unique visitors.

Visits to Yahoo Video, MySpaceTV and Heavy.com all had a drop in traffic. MySpace’s online video market share has decreased by one-half since July, to 7.6 percent.

Unique visitors to Yahoo Video stayed about the same, while visits fell 27.5 percent. Compete said the decrease showed that visitors to Yahoo Video were less likely to return than they were in August and September.

AOL’s video properties had a 4 percent increase in unique visitors, but visits fell by 9.4 percent to 30 million.

Compete said that visits to the top 20 video sites dropped by 6 percent in October.
