Mexican Programmer Transforms Gmail Into Blogging Tool

Get the WebProNews Newsletter:

Jonathan Hernandez, a Mexican programmer, has developed software that turns Google’s Gmail service into a blog.

Mr. Hernandez has posted a proof of concept of his software, being called Gallina. Gallina uses Gmail messages as blog entries, and the star feature to signify publish status. Each reply to an email message is posted as comments to an entry. Anyone wanting to use Gallina would need to install the application on a server, which would then store the posts in a Gmail account.

It is possible that Google may not like Gallina, the company’s terms and conditions doesn’t allow screen-scraping technology, the kind used by Gallina.
