It's true! The stork is making its way back to Drew Barrymore's doorstep, because the 38-year-old actress is pregnant again! She and her husband, Will Kopelman, announced yesterday that they would be welcoming a second child in the coming months. The “Never Been Kissed” actress wasted no time jumping right back into the throes of newborn parenthood, considering her firstborn is only a little over a year old. People Magazine reports that it's actually been just 14 months since the birth of their daughter, Olive, who was born in Sept. of 2012.
However, the thought of another little one so soon definitely doesn't come as a deterrent to the expecting couple. Barrymore has gone on record several times embracing motherhood before, during and after her first pregnancy, and she's even more ecstatic this time around. It all started with an interview with Haute Living when she spoke fondly of her anticipation toward the birth of her first child.
"I can't wait until I have my children," Barrymore admitted to Haute Living just before her daughter birth. "I love the idea that they don't have to do something that they have no interest in, that they can do something completely opposite if they want to. I will be so surprised if they don't want to do something involving food or wine or art, but I'll be OK with it. I just want to build fun, great things for my family."
"I count my lucky stars every day. It's amazing. I never take it for granted," Barrymore told Ellen Degeneres. “My favorite thing about being a mom is just what a better person it makes you on a daily basis," she said to Good Housekeeping. "Every morning when I wake her up, the endgame is, Can I get her to smile? And that puts me in a good mood. It's definitely a different way to live—and a much better one."
Barrymore definitely wears the mothering hat with great pride, and she's ready to do it all over again.
