SEM Blogger Is Suddenly Interesting

Everybody’s talking about this guy today, so I figured I’d better get on the bandwagon. Search Marketer Chris Zaharius, who runs Efficient Frontier, has a weblog with several nifty quick tips and creative advertising suggestions. The most recent post involves setting up AdWords campaigns that target reputation management, use poetry, or set up an advertising scavenger hunt.

The most interesting of the Interesting Things To Do With KeyWord Ads was a “circular paid search journey,” a scavenger hunt that requires clickers to keep clicking until they find the original AdSense ad somewhere and when a prize for finding it first. Seems that may cost you some money, but it could generate exposure, I suppose.

But losing money on AdWords may be part of the experiment. Setting up AdWords in poem form, proved to be a money losing experience for another experimental blogger, but Zaharius thinks, with the proper tweaking, a haiku advertisement could work.

Even if his suggestions don’t work, they could provide a learning opportunity for search marketers who don’t mind losing a few cents (sense) by finding a creative way to run a campaign and checking the results.
