Last summer LinkedIn launched its DirectAds platform, which lets members purchase targeted text ads. Now the professional social network is talking about some enhancements it has made, which include:

- Access to a global audience
– More pricing options
– Easier payments for DirectAds

"Starting this week, DirectAds expands its reach allowing you to promote your products and services to professionals around the globe," says LinkedIn’s Jack Chou. "It now includes the option to target professionals from Australia, Canada, India, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, in addition to those from the United States."

Advertisers have the option to pay per click as well as purchase ads by impressions. "Paying by the click (CPC) will be an incredibly cost-effective way for you to promote the website of your small business or service to targeted professionals across LinkedIn," says Chou.

Members can pay for clicks or impressions with a single transaction, and they will not be charged until they have "a clear picture" of the CPC or cost per thousand impressions.
