Macrovision announced that InstallShield X won “Best Installation Tool” in both the 2004 Java Pro Readers’ Choice Awards and the 2004 Delphi Informant Magazine Readers’ Choice Awards.

“The Java Pro Reader’s Choice Awards recognize the best Java technology-related products, like InstallShield X, that help advance Java technology development,” said Kay Keppler, editor of Java Pro Magazine. “InstallShield X was selected by Java developers based on their experience with the product while developing applications. This is the strongest real world endorsement that can be given for a developer’s tool.”

InstallShield X’s fourth win in the Java Pro Magazine and seventh consecutive win in the Delphi Informant Magazine awards programs underscore the product’s ease of use and multi-platform capabilities while reinforcing its leadership as the de facto installation standard for any platform, operating system or device.

“We are honored to be recognized by readers of the industry’s leading magazines for Java and Delphi programming professionals,” said Bob Corrigan, product manager, installation tools, Macrovision. “Many developers know InstallShield from its early Microsoft Windows days, but InstallShield has really become the setup tool of choice regardless of operating system. This recognition is a true testament to the strength of InstallShield X’s multi-platform capabilities and demonstrates that developers overwhelmingly prefer InstallShield X as their product of choice.”

InstallShield X enables software developers to author industry-standard installations targeting virtually any platform, operating system and device, thereby saving valuable development time and support costs, greatly increasing deployment successes and customer satisfaction.
