Hubble Celebrates 15 Years With Dramatic Images

Two new images from NASA’s space telescope illustrate the continued usefulness of the mission.

Images of the Whirlpool Galaxy and the Eagle Nebula came across as a couple of the largest and clearest pictures ever taken by Hubble.

Over the past fifteen years, Hubble has taken over 700,000 photos of space. Its findings have contributed greatly to science, helping astronomers learn about the age of the universe and the composition of alien planetary atmospheres.

Though the Hubble mission was not given any continued funding in NASA’s last budget, a new director at NASA has decided to reconsider this action.
