Dominion Digital announced that senior consultant Michael Kittel has co-authored a book titled ASP.NET Cookbook with former company consultant Geoffrey LeBlond.

ASP.NET Cookbook, which provides hands-on solutions geared toward programmers, is available at O’Reilly Media and Amazon.

Kittel says his expertise stems from leading the development of richly functional web-based projects for Dominion Digital’s customers, starting with an alpha release of ASP.NET 1.0, while LeBlond’s unique experience comes from having written several bestselling computer books.

“This cookbook is a combination of our joint experience. We were unable to find a book that provided the kind of working examples that we as professional developers really needed and that spoke to us at the right level. So we decided to write one ourselves,” Kittel said. “In the book we take narrow to very wide problems and show full examples so readers can immediately start working their ideas, customizing them to their projects.”

According to publisher O’Reilly’s book description, “ASP.NET Cookbook provides a wealth of plug-and-play solutions to problems commonly encountered when developing ASP.NET web applications and services in the popular problem-solution-discussion Cookbook format. The coding solutions in ASP.NET Cookbook appeal to a wide range of developers, from the inexperienced to the expert. For every problem addressed in the book, there’s a worked-out solution or recipe complete with code that web developers can insert directly into their applications.”

With this book, developers will learn how to:

— Get quick solutions to common development problems

— Adapt the problem-solving techniques

— Implement solutions to problems

— Increase ASP.NET skills

— Apply complete solutions by taking everyday problems encountered in corporate to enterprise development

— Weigh the plusses and minuses of different development approaches

— Explore the fine points of useful ASP.NET development techniques, such as when it makes sense to handle errors at the at the method, page, or application level

Kittel added that to help readers, the source code in the book was written in two languages: VB.NET and C#. “Most technology books are written in one or the other language. All of the examples are written in both, for broader appeal,” he said.

O’Reilly also states “developers can save hours by using just a single one of more than 100 recipes included in this invaluable cookbook.”

Dominion Digital CEO and Founder Chris Little said he is proud that Kittel and LeBlond’s expertise is being recognized among publishing world and programmer colleagues. “At Dominion Digital, we hire experts and recognize the value our consultants provide to our clients. The ASP.NET Cookbook is testament to our team’s knowledge and ability to provide solutions to company customers.”
