A Look at YouTube’s Channel Redesign

YouTube is testing a "secret" beta of a new channel layout, which as I’m sure they’re aware by now it is not very secret anymore. Although, I can’t imagine that they expected it would be kept secret for long.

According to Read Write Web, some YouTube users were notified about the beta testing directly from YouTube via email. Others had to find out indirectly.

Anyway, if you go to the URL, http://www.youtube.com/super_seekrit, you can opt-in for the beta testing of this layout. In addition, to keep updated on the happenings with this beta testing, you can follow this blog, set up especially for it.

The new layout looks something like this:

I’ve seen several videos discussing the layout and opinions seem to be mixed. As RRW’s Sarah Perez points out, the highlight is that you can edit your channel from within it. You can edit settings, themes and colors, and modules. For those who do not dig the new layout, there is a button you can click on that reverts it back to the original.
