Accessing the Internet from a mobile device can be a frustrating experience; small screens, slow speeds, and "streamlined" (meaning stripped) interfaces often make people feel like they're missing out.  But a certain Mountain View-based search giant is trying to fix all that with a new, beta version of iGoogle.

The version is targeted at iPhones and Android devices.  Otherwise, a post on the Google Mobile Blog explains that it's "faster and easier to use.  It supports tabs as well as more of your favorite gadgets, including those built by third-party developers."

 

The post later continues, "One of our favorite new features is the in-line display of articles for feed-based gadgets.  That means you can read article summaries without leaving the page.  You can also rearrange gadget order or keep your favorite gadgets open for your next visit."

All in all, this should contribute to making the mobile Internet experience a lot more like the desktop equivalent.  The speed improvements and intelligent instances of streamlining should effectively reduce some barriers to use, as well.
