WebProNews recently attended the Social Media Club of Louisville Meeting, where Chris Brogan spoke about social media to an audience of people from the region. Mike McDonald spoke with Social Media Club Louisville President Jason falls. Ever gone to a regional meet-up? Tell us about your experience.
Falls talks about social media clubs around the south and how they are "connecting the dots" among different regions and how people are finding ways to help one in another with their social media goals.
Fall says people have gotten to the point where they understand what social media is all about, and now they're trying to figure out new ways to work together to make better products for everybody. Meet-ups like those of Social Media Club Louisville and others help to connect people like:
- application developers
- startups
- venture capitalists
- marketing and PR people

St. Louis Social Media Club
The SMC of St. Louis had a relaunch happy hour/panel presentation last week. We got a great turnout with about 125 people that showed up to network and hear the speakers. It was held on an outdoor patio at a local bar, and everyone had a great time. I posted a few pictures on my Flickr account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/stlouispics/sets/72157612662513729/detail/
I've found that attending Tweetups/Social Media events are a great way to connect with your online connections. It makes the networks so much more useful for business, plus it's a great way to make some new friends.
