Today Google announced Google Product Search for Mobile. Android and iPhone users will now be able to type a product query into Google.com and get Google Product Search Results formatted for their phones.

This provides for convenient mobile access to online ratings, reviews, prices, and product details (Microsoft announced a similar feature for Live Search about a year ago). "Whether you're trying to decide between two digital cameras while you're in a store or checking out prices for a new product that you've just seen on TV, we hope Google Product Search for mobile helps you to make better-informed shopping choices," says Yury Pinsky, Product Manager on the Google Mobile team.

Google shares the following clip of one of its engineers going on a "shopping adventure" taking advantage of the new capabilities.

Certain products like electronics and video games have dedicated product pages that include ratings charts and specs. The new results are available in the US and the UK currently. More info is available at the help center.
