Google touted an impressive team-up during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The search advertising company managed to extend earlier work with Nokia to put Google into the Finnish handset maker's products.
On the Google Mobile blog, product manager Sumit Agarwal said Google would first appear on the 6210 Navigator, 6220 classic, and the N78 and N96 models. It will be on other Nokia models in the future.
Nokia and Google built on their prior work placing Google search on Nokia's Internet Tablets. They also squeezed YouTube support into the Nokia N95 8GB.
Yahoo's news on the mobile side from Barcelona concerned a forthcoming service called oneConnect. This follows the company's oneSearch launch last year, and focuses on social networking features.
Yahoo said the oneConnect product offers a socially connected address book, integrated mobile messaging, and other features. It will be available as part of Yahoo Go 3.0, and a new Yahoo mobile home page, in the second quarter of this year.
Support for MySpace, Facebook, Bebo, and other social networks on oneConnect will include status updates of friends, and the ability to send status updates from oneConnect to those services.
