Google Book Search Adds New Features

Google has announced the launch of some new features for Google Book Search.

Users can now create, share and search their own library using a feature called My Library. Users can organize, annotate and full text search through the books they select. Users can add labels, write reviews and rate books and share their collection with others by sending them a link to their library in Google Book Search. Users can also set up RSS feeds with friends so they know when new books have been added to your collection.

Google has added a "Popular Passages" feature that displays quotations or other excerpts of a book that appear in many other books. Google says the purpose of its Popular Passages feature is to allow users to see the connection between books.

Another feature that Google has added lets users clip and post portions of text from out-of-copyright books allowing users to share passages and quotes with others.

Google has also added search refinement links on the results pages. These links direct users to categories of books that match a users search.
