Despite a few fits and starts, and some bugs to quash, the Mozilla Foundation will make the full release of the Firefox browser, version 1.5, available this afternoon.
Everyone using Firefox 1.5 RC 3 get to drop the RC from the version today, as Mozilla delivers the 1.5 full release of the browser, IDG News reported.
More detailed news about the new browser will be made available on Wednesday. But the early report said support for Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), JavaScript 1.6, and new versions of Cascading Style Sheets has been added.
An updated navigation system should allow for faster movement from page to page when using the Back and Forward buttons. Also, Mozilla has improved popup blocking and addressed several security issues.
The Clear Private Data function seen in the release candidates will be in the full release. Answers.com has been added to the list of search engines available in Firefox.
Firefox passed its first birthday on November 9th. The report noted downloads of the browser passed 100 million in October.
