FriendFeed Offers Real-Time SearchResults Actually Roll In
Delicous has started integrating Yahoo Music's FoxyPlayer into the social bookmarking site. Users can now listen to playlists based on bookmarks.
"To try this out, you can filter by the “system:media:audio” tag, then filter further by the type of media you’d like to hear – like the name of the artist, genre etc," explains Stephen Garcia at the Yahoo Music Blog. "The results can include podcasts, mp3, music, and a whole host of other file types. Now you can play all them all using the FoxyPlayer!"
"Among the hundreds of millions of bookmarks saved on Delicious are a large number of audio files, collected from across the Web," writes Stephen Hood at the Delicious Blog. "Rock, jazz, house, spoken word — you name it, you can probably find a link to it somewhere on Delicious. For some time now we’ve supported the streaming of MP3 audio via our “PlayTagger” feature, which is integrated directly into Delicious and also available for adding to your own site."
Both Hood and Garcia provide the following examples of ways to listen:
http://delicious.com/tag/system:filetype:mp3+jazz+free
http://delicious.com/tag/system:media:audio+npr
http://delicious.com/tag/system:media:audio+podcast
This is just another convenient way to listen to music while you're online. It's not bad for background music while you're working, and is an alternative to Internet radio stations like Pandora and other services like MySpace Music.
