Icahn Blog To Launch Today

Post to Twitter Post to Facebook

Hopes for grass-roots response

Billionaire investor Carl Icahn is launching his much-anticipated blog today, called the Icahn Report.

Icahn first announced that he would launch a blog in February focused on the desultory state of corporate governance in America.

Since the announcement, the blog, icahnreport.com, has remained vacant of content, leading the New York Post Web site to launch a daily "Carl I Can't Blog Counter," tracking how many days, hours, minutes and seconds the blog has been idle.

As of Wednesday it had been 138 days since Icahn had first announced that he would be launching the Icahn Report.

Icahn has been involved in a number of highly publicized proxy battles, including the Yahoo/Microsoft saga in which he pushed for a board change at Yahoo. He said his lawyers had stopped him from writing anything. That has now changed.

"We're hoping for a grass-roots response to this down the road," Icahn told Reuters. "We want to get shareholders to realize they should be doing something."

"Corporate democracy is a myth in America and its a problem in this economy and one reason we don't compete in many areas," said Icahn. "With many exceptions, there really is no accountability."

Currently the blog is parked free courtesy of GoDaddy.com.

Mr. Icahn.....go after them and hold them accountable.  What can we do?
