Blinkx Announces 28 New Partnerships

I like Blinkx - the video search engine stays busy, thereby giving us something to write about.  And today, the video search engine gave evidence that it has been very busy - Blinkx announced 28 new media partnerships.

Admittedly, most of the partners don’t have a high profile, but that’s all right with Blinkx; in a press release, the company appears proud to have reached deals with “with special interest, or ‘Long Tail,’ media companies,” and notes that it’s “extended its leadership in delivering the most diverse material and intuitive viewing experience on the Web.”

One of the sites may be familiar to you, however, since it’s been in the news a few times lately.  The most recent instance occurred a little more than two weeks ago, when the site in question, Cycling TV, was sold to JumpTV.

As for some of the 27 other partners, “blinkx also recently signed an agreement with Eye Music Network, a Web site featuring more than 3,500 hours of the best of the best music videos from pop, rock, reggae and more. . . .  In addition, blinkx has teamed up with GeoBeats, a producer of professional video travel guides, to give travel enthusiasts a sense of a destination’s local flavor and to help them plan their next memorable adventure.”

Not bad, not bad.  In fact: all hail Blinkx, the creator of about six press releases per month.
