Not a Bad Month for Microsoft Live Search

Of Course Google's Month Was OK Too to Say the Least

Microsoft didn't have too bad a month of search in January. As Doug reported, comScore had Live Search's market share rising from 8.3 to 8.5 percent.

AT Internet Institute from France  published a report  as well that finds Live Search climbing over there. "Live Search is the winner of this month, which had already ended 2008 on a positive note," the report says. "It further consolidates its performance (3rd) and climbs by 0.12 points: 2.29% of visits in January 2009 vs. 2.17% in December 2008."

AT Internet Institute - Top 5 Search Engines

Obviously Google is still way, way ahead of everyone, but on top of Microsoft climbing, Yahoo remained stable for the first time in 10 months. Here is AT Internet Institute's look at the top ten:

It is worth noting that Google rose a little bit too, and sits comfortably at 91.23% market share. I don't think they have anything to worry about just yet.

It's URL submitter is more

It's URL submitter is more likely to index things than google or yahoo. Yahoo's URL submitter is least likely to index things of all.
