Online Video Mocked by Doogie Howser at Emmys

Neil Patrick Harris as Dr. Horrible

The 61st Primetime Emmy Awards (aka: The Emmys) were on last night on CBS, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, formerly of Doogie Howser M.D., and currently of How I Met Your Mother. During the show, "NPH" appeared as "Dr. Horrible" (not a reference to Doogie, but to a blogger he portrays on a web show), and made fun of online video and the notion that it could ever replace television.

Doogie takes stabs at common limitations of online video, such as size and buffering. Watch the clip below.

Meanwhile, the Emmys have their own YouTube channel, where users can watch over 109 Emmy-related videos. In addition, videos can be found at emmyonline.tv.

Emmy award winners included: 30 Rock, Mad Men, Little Dorrit, Alec Baldwin, Bryan Cranston, Toni Collette, Glenn Close, Grey Gardens, Jeff Probst, The Amazing Race, Brendan Gleeson, Jessica Lange, Jon Cryer, Michael Emerson, Ken Howard, Kristin Chenoweth, Cherry Jones, Shohreh Arghdashloo, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Office, American Idol, ER, Justin Timberlake, Michael J. Fox, Tina Fey, and Ellen Burstyn.
