Gmail Now Talks To AIM
By Jason Lee Miller - Wed, 12/05/2007 - 11:40
Google announced a partnership with AOL that allows users to log into their Instant Messenger account from GMail.
By doing so, AIM Buddies can be presented the same way Google Talk friends are and users can access the same features, like chat history and sorting according to frequency of contact.

The offering is only available in the newest English version of Gmail for now, but will available in other languages "soon," says Mike Jazayeri, a senior product manager for Google.
While Google says it's working on making the feature available for more browsers, AIM through Gmail is only compatible with Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2.
