Twitter And The Mark Zuckerberg Interview
By Robert Scoble - Tue, 03/11/2008 - 1:12pm.
When I arrived 15-minutes into the now famous interview of Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, by BusinessWeek reporter Sarah Lacy the audience had already turned (it was two days ago and it still is the #1 topic of conversation on blogs and at SXSW, which is the conference that this happened at).
The Good And Bad Of Twitter At SXSW
By Rohit Bhargava - Tue, 03/11/2008 - 9:22am.
If last year's SXSW was Twitter's coming out party, this year it achieved utility status. A utility is something that is always on, and essential. To lose it would be to thrust yourself into the dark ages. Water, electricity, gas ... and Twitter. Sound like an exaggeration? Not for anyone who has spent the last few days watching the incessant live twittering at SXSW. Because not every reader is as tricked out in extreme geekdom as those at SXSW, here's a brief description of Twitter:
SXSW Crowd Turns On Reporter

BusinessWeek's Sarah Lacy says she did her best interviewing Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg during yesterday's SXSW keynote. The (hostile) crowd there begs to differ.Add to the drama a quote destined for the annals of the Professional Journalism Hall of Fame, if there is such a thing, a message to the crowd from Ms. Lacy:
SXSW Swag

As anyone who has been to SXSW (a huge music, film and interactive conference happening now in Austin, TX) knows, after you have registered for your badge, you have the chance to go downstairs to a different room where you will pick up your "big bag." It's the canvas bag with all the brochures, flyers, magazines, and other assorted free stuff that you get as a registrant to the event. If you are registered for the Film, Interactive and Music events, you get three of these big bags ...
No Facebook Music Details In SxSW Keynote
By Bruce Houghton - Mon, 03/10/2008 - 12:27pm.
A keynote at SXSW Interactive with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerman got a touch ugly when the crowd booed interviewer and BusinessWeek columnist Sarah Lacy for fawning over Zuckerman and her softball questions.SXSW's Mobile Pocket Guide
By Christopher Carfi - Thu, 03/06/2008 - 4:48pm.
Just in time for SXSW, I am really pleased to announced that Cerado has launched a handy "Unofficial Pocket Guide" that is based on the beta of Cerado Ventana. It's a mobile-friendly SXSW widget that gives you quick access to: - People - Agenda - Books that authors will be signing in the book lounge - FAQ
SXSW By The Numbers
By Bruce Houghton - Tue, 02/19/2008 - 3:30pm.
Paste Magazine's Caren Kelleher has taken a look at emerging trends at SXSW and found that just as the conference is receiving increasing criticism for getting too big, 20% more bands than ever before have already been accepted to official showcases. Kelleher counts 1594 bands in 2008 vs. 1331 in 2007.

Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg will keynote the fifteenth annual SXSW Interactive Festival, also known as South by Southwest.
SES - Finding Social Search
By Rohit Bhargava - Fri, 04/13/2007 - 4:24pm.
I had the opportunity to participate in a panel discussion at the Search Engine Strategies show in NY all about Social Media Optimization. It was interesting to see how the idea has progressed and search pros are implementing tactics and techniques for social media marketing.
Dan Rather's Blogging "Gray Area"
By Andy Beal - Wed, 03/14/2007 - 11:44am.
CNET sat down with former CBS news anchor Dan Rather at the recent SXSW conference and got his opinion on everything from blogs to net neutrality. Considering Rather pretty much lost his job at CBS due to bloggers questioning a report on President Bush’s National Guard service record, you’d think Rather would hate bloggers. Interestingly, Rather believes there is room for bloggers as serious journalists.
