Rumor: Yahoo's Senior Director Of Engineering Gone

AMP would lose leader

A wholly believable rumor has it that yet another important Yahoo employee has found his way to the door.  Adam Hyder, the company's senior director of engineering, is the man who may no longer bleed purple.

Hyder's LinkedIn profile shows that he was in charge of Yahoo's Advertising Management Platform (AMP), and before that, dealt with HotJobs.  This appears to establish his credentials as a capable individual.

Also, since AMP is the thing that "aims to transform the online advertising industry" (according to an April press release), it points to Yahoo being in a rather awkward spot if Hyder did indeed leave.

So is he gone?  The tip comes from an anonymous, yet otherwise accurate, Valleywag reader.  More evidence: just last month, Hyder talked to Claudia Capos about how his job has kept him away from his children.

Finally, that LinkedIn profile indicates Hyder is interested in everything imaginable, with career opportunities, consulting offers, new ventures, and job inquiries all sounding good.

Even if Hyder hasn't left Yahoo - and the odds of that seem small - it sounds like he has one hand on the doorknob and both feet pointed outside.
