Companies trade more than a percentage point of market shareAt some point, we'll be able to start recycling these reports; "Google is ahead" can only be said so many ways. February wasn't too routine, though, as Nielsen Online reports that Google gained 1.8 percent market share in comparison to its January standing.

Nielsen Online's February Figures
According to Nielsen, Google has now cornered 58.7 percent of all searches. And in the event that you're suspicious of some statistical oddities - February is a short month, after all - Nielsen also found that there were about 4.5 billion Google queries in February, up significantly from the 4.2 billion performed the month before.
To cover its competitors: Yahoo came in second, with 1.3 billion searches and a market share of 17.6 percent. Yet stockholders, Microsoft, and whoever else is interested in the company should note that, in January, those numbers were 1.4 billion and 19.0 percent, respectively. Oops.
MSN/Windows Live Search suffered a bad month, as well, with its market share sinking from 12.1 percent to 11.2 percent. (Sympathy pains, perhaps?) AOL and Ask managed to pull off slight improvements.
Still, in the end, and all changes aside, Google is decisively ahead yet again.
