CastTV is licensing its video search technology to entertainment and media company, Gemstar-TV Guide.

TV Guide's Online Video Guide launched in beta in April and will use CastTV's technology to help run its search index.

TV Guide's Online Video Guide focuses on professional and independent video on the Internet and gives users targeted search results. CastTV's video crawler automatically indexes content from entertainment destinations including major broadcast and cable networks, movie download sites and sports sites.

"CastTV is helping us to extend our powerful brand, and guidance and navigation leadership to the Internet," said Paul Greenberg, general manager, TV Guide Online.

"Using CastTV's indexing technology, we have been able to ensure that TV Guide is providing users of our Online Video Guide with a unique and relevant way to search for entertainment video on the Internet."
