The SEO Company, an English search engine optimization specialist, has teamed up with Louisville, Kentucky-based e-marketing company NowSourcing, to produce the Social Media 2012 Infographic.
Pinterest’s meteoric rise is mentioned, though recent reports have noted a loss of popularity. Hacker group Anonymous has hyperactive so far this year, even shutting down the Vatican’s website. The wildly viral KONY video was released by non-profit organization Invisible Children, which was in turn somewhat eclipsed by a video of narrator Jason Russell’s “fabulously exhausted” and nude prancing around San Diego.
Facebook bought Instagram for $1 billion, making “1 Instagram” slang for 1 billion dollars in Silicon Valley. And most recently, Facebook filed its IPO, to great initial intrigue, though stocks seem to have fallen flat for the next long while.
