With the NCAA tournament starting Thursday, many teams are beginning the push for the Final Four. However Syracuse got some terrible news today as starting center, Fab Melo has been ruled ineligible. Below is a tweet from the Syracuse athletic Department.
The Syracuse Athletic Department stated: "Given University policy and federal student privacy laws, no further details can be provided at this time."
Syracuse was granted the top seed in the East Region in the NCAA Tournament, and were slated to play Thursday at 3:10 PM in Pittsburgh against UNC-Asheville. It'll be interesting to see how Melo's absence impacts the team as he was averaging 25.4 minutes, 5.8 rebounds, 2.9 blocks, and 7.8 points per game.
