You probably know Corey Feldman as being a child actor in the 1980’s. He appeared in many popular movies, still popular today, including The Goonies, Friday the 13th, The Lost Boys, Gremlins and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
As we remember his childhood by how many movies he appeared in and the specific roles he had in each, he has more to his childhood than the glam and glitz of being a Hollywood child movie star.
Feldman is releasing a memoir titled “Coreyography”, which will be out soon. In the book he shares a very dark side of his younger years. When acting on The Lost Boys with Corey Haim at the age of 14, they both realized that had been abused by older men. They two became close friends and could confine in one other.
Feldman grew up thinking that it was perfectly fine for older men to ‘play around’ with young boys and that there was nothing wrong with it. He lived with his assistant, Ron Crimson for a while and was introduced to many drugs and was abused by Crimson, who made Feldman have sexual relations with him. As he got older and became closer to Haim, he even questioned him if they were supposed to do the same with one another.
Many different people in Hollywood, who he would work with on different movie sets, molested Feldman. His troubled life began early at home when his mother Sheila, ex Play Boy model, suffered from depression and drug issues. She dyed her son’s hair blonde at age 4 because she wanted it to be that color, and then shortly after began telling him he was too fat and force-fed him diet pills, according to the New York Post.
Feldman and Haim stayed friends until Haim died in 2010 of phenomena. Although both were drug addicts at the time, Feldman is now clean of all drugs and is still an actor. He also is in a band that he frequently performs with, known as “Truth Movement”.
