Facebook Opens Mini-Feed Comments

New feature enables quick commentary from other profiles

A new feature should start hitting Facebook profiles as the company adds the ability to comment directly on Mini-Feed stories directly from someone's profile.

Facebook will shortly make its Mini-Feed commenting feature available, a company spokesperson told WebProNews a few minutes ago. Items in other people's profiles will have a function where the viewer may leave a comment on the status, friendship, or other Mini-Feed story bits.

The change expands what people can comment on within the Facebook environment. Though the social networking site already provides ample opportunities to comment on items, this will make it easier for members to comment quickly on what they see.

Members will have the ability to control commentary on Mini-Feed through their privacy settings. It can be allowed or restricted as desired.

Though this feature is one Facebook has wanted to implement for some time, it doesn't appear Facebook plans to extend it to the News Feed anytime soon. Facebook intends to keep evaluating features based on what it considers a good user experience, so News Feed could gain comments in the future.
