On Sunday, YouTube began a two-day trial of its new live streaming platform, which continues today.

"This means that Argentines will be able to more easily discover local talent like GuadalajaraMan, UESiglo21, farolatino, casiangeles or yoteloexplico, as well as view the most popular and most viewed videos in their country," says YouTube. 

Netflix announced a new deal with Nu Image/Millennium Films today. The agreement will allow Netflix to stream first-run theatrical films to its members. 

Netflix says the deal is an example of how it is moving to expand both variety and timliness of its streaming catalog. The deal is expected to provide five to ten theatrical films per year for Netflix streaming. 

Justin.tv has a new Android app for broadcasting live video. This competes with services like UStream and Qik. Unfortunately, it doesn’t let you simply watch Justin.tv content like the iPhone app does. Perhaps that will come later. This is the first Android app Justin.tv has offered.

YouTube has announced new video and channel exclusions for advertisers, so they can pick specific videos and channel URLs that they don’t want their ads to appear with.

Last week, Chatroulette was down, displaying nothing but a blank screen and a promise of a quick return. That return didn’t come so quickly, but the site is back now…somewhat.

Cisco announced today that it intends to acquire ExtendMedia, a content management systems provider out of Newton, Massachusetts.

ExtendMedia’s systems manage video content through monetization for pay media and ad-supported business models. Cisco says that with ExtendMedia, it will be able to help service providers deliver multi-screen offerings as the market transitions to IP video.

Boxee announced today that it is adding the foundations of a movie library to go along with its existing TV show library. Boxee is tapping EZTakes, Indie Movies Online, MUBI and Openfilm to add thousands of movies to its offerings.

Most of the movies in the library will be free and ad-supported, Boxee says.

Chatroulette is currently not available. The Chatroulette that we’ve all known has apparently just been an "experiment". It will be back today, however, if a message on the site is any indication.

Saturday was Invisible People.tv day at YouTube. InvisiblePeople.tv is a site/project that utilizes social media tools like YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace to spread awareness about the growing homelessness problem.

The channel was featured on YouTube’s home page over the weekend, and YouTube discussed it in a company blog post, speaking with Founder Mark Horvath.

YouTube has launched YouTube Charts, a destination for users to see how popular videos are performing.

Rounds (formerly 6rounds.com) has announced the launch of an interactive video chat platform for Facebook Platform. Users have already been using Rounds to video chat in real time while engaging in various social activities and real-time games. Offering it for Facebook obviously opens up the door for a great deal more use, given that Facebook has half a billion users.
