Yahoo Sacks The NFL With A Lawsuit

Yahoo is suing the NFL Players Association, arguing that it should not have to pay additional royalties to use player's statistics and images in its fantasy football games because the information is publicly available.
Yahoo filed the suit June 1 in federal court in Minneapolis. The company alleges the NFL Players Association threatened to sue it if it did not pay royalties for using the publicly available information.
CBS Interactive Properties Growing Fast

CBS Interactive appears to be in rather great shape. A report from Nielsen Online documented traffic trends for many of its properties during April, and increases of more than 20 percent were common across the board.
CBS Introduces Social Viewing Rooms
CBS Interactive is introducing a new online feature that allows TV viewers to watch CBS shows with their friends and interact with one another while they do so.The new feature is called Social Viewing Rooms and is available for primetime, daytime, and CBS Classics. Social Viewing Rooms allows TV fans to chat, make comments, and or animate customized virtual objects on the screen.
CBS Partners with Digg on Election Coverage

Now here’s a strange partnership. CBS Interactive has announced a partnership with social bookmarking site Digg for online coverage of the 2008 election. Through the deal, Digg buttons will be added to CBS stories and Digg’s election related headlines will be displayed on CBSNews.com.
