Fox recently talked about the challenges of being a working mother and said that while she loves to work, she loves her family more and would much rather be spending time with them.

“It’s so hard to be a working mom especially when your heart is not in your work, when your heart is with your family,” Fox said.

Although Fox hasn’t appeared in a film since 2012, she stars in the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film that will hit theaters this August.

The star admitted that filming was much easier before she had children and a husband. She also said that although she enjoys every aspect of motherhood, it is also one of the hardest things she has ever done.

“It’s total chaos, obviously. Before you have kids you really do not understand how much work it is and how consuming it is. And then you have one and you’re like, ‘Oh my God, my baby is my whole world,’” she said. “Every moment of the day is dedicated to this one baby and then all of a sudden you have two babies! Their needs are so different because Noah is nearing 2 and then my newborn is 4 months. It’s really hard to manage because I also don’t let them watch TV. It’s not like I’m going to sit Noah in front of the television so I can take care of Bodhi.”

Fox also said that the reason she continues to work and make films is for her family and children and that she sees her work as an investment in their future. She plans to only take jobs that are filming near her home so she can spend as much time with her children as possible.
