YouTube just announced that it has launched a new app for the Nintendo Wii, available in the Wii Shop Channel in the U.S. (with more countries on the way in the coming months).
Users will be able to sign in and find the channels they’re subscribed to, flip through various categories, and of course search. Here are some screenshots:
The app is built using WebM, making it the largest deployment of WebM video in the world today.
YouTube now has an app on all major gaming platforms in the U.S., as it already had apps for Playstation 3 and Xbox. It is also one of the video content partners for the Wii U.
Google says YouTube is available on 400 million devices.
