Actress Drew Barrymore has led a tumultuous life, and a good deal of it has involved relationships. She’s been married a couple of times (to bar owner Jeremy Thomas and actor Tom Green), engaged a couple of times, and everything in between. Now, after surviving a rocky childhood filled with celebrities and hard partying, a teenage overdose, and a slew of relationships, Barrymore is ready to settle down and is expecting her first child with art consultant Will Kopelman, whom she quietly married over the weekend at her home.
The affair was small and intimate and included only the couple’s closest friends and family; the ceremony was traditionally Jewish and was performed by Kopelman’s family’s rabbi.
Barrymore has had a rough past with her own family, estranged from her father for years before he passed away and seeking emancipation from her mother at a young age. She told Ellen DeGeneres earlier this year that she loves Kopelman’s family and feels at home with them, something that has always been important to her in a relationship.
“He has this incredible family,” she said. “I am as in love with his family as I am with him. Which is an extraordinary sort of gift. You never take that for granted…It really is an absolute blessing. I feel very lucky. They’re incredible people.”
