Victoria Beckham has accomplished many things during her time on Earth: she was a Spice Girl, she parlayed her fame into a successful clothing venture, and she married David Beckham. If she stopped now, she’d still be light years ahead of the rest of us. Perhaps that’s why Glamour Magazine decided to name her Woman Of The Decade, a significant title at the annual Woman Of The Year Awards.
Beckham brought her son Brooklyn as her date for the evening and accepted her award with a short but sweet speech, thanking her family and promoting female empowerment.
“I love to celebrate women,” she said. “Girl power. It’s great when women support women. We need more women out there supporting women…Thank you Brooklyn, my date tonight, who’s the most handsome man in the room tonight. That’s really pissed off [model] David Gandy. Thank you to my husband, who does everything for me, he supports me, he encourages me to follow my dreams and fulfil my passions. I’ve been so blessed to have two careers. I have been so lucky…here’s to the next ten years….in ten years I will be nearly 50.”
