Veronica Mars is back! Seven years after the television series ended its run on the WB, Veronica Mars is back for a new film adaptation of the series, that is scheduled for release in March 2014.
The movie takes place ten years after Veronica (Kristen Bell) graduated from Neptune High School. Now, she is a big-shot lawyer, however she starts returning to her detective ways, after her ex-boyfriend Logan (Jason Dohring ) is charged with murder. Veronica also returns back to her high school for her ten year reunion, where she meets up with old friends and nemesis.
Rob Thomas put the Veronica Mars movie on Kickstarter last year, in hopes of raising $2 million for the creation of the film, and ended up making nearly triple that. “This project has been a labor of love for everyone involved—me, the cast, my producing partners,” Thomas said in a statement. “We are so grateful for the outpouring of support from the Kickstarter backers. This movie wouldn’t have happened without them.”
The official trailer was released on Thursday, and soon after Kristen Bell took to Twitter to thank all of the fans who made this possiblee.
YOU GUYS MADE THIS POSSIBLE. I can never say it enough: Thank You. Xoxo #VeronicaMarsMovie @veronicamars
