Vanessa Lachey, who’s expecting her second baby soon, was recently interviewed by American Baby magazine for their upcoming issue. The star did not just share pregnancy and parenting tips, but she also talked candidly about her experience when she was pregnant with her first child, Camden. She admitted that she didn’t form an instant bond when she got her first baby bump. “While pregnant with my son, Camden, I felt guilty because everyone told me about this love I’d feel, and I wasn’t there yet,” she said in the interview.

Vanessa added, “I remember asking [husband] Nick [Lachey], ‘Is something wrong with me? I’ve wanted this my whole life, and I’m forcing myself to have those feelings.’ For me, the love really flowed when I found out the baby was a boy. That’s when I could finally bond, once I knew ‘it’ was a ‘him’.” She also advised moms against comparing themselves to what they see on social media. “With social media, people share mostly their best moments,” Vanessa pointed out. “Don’t feel like you’re not doing enough when you see a mom posting about making applesauce after you bought it. Ha ha! It’s fine! Just for raising a little human being you should be commended.”

The 34-year-old was recently spotted in LAX with a very visible baby bump, but she didn’t let her pregnancy ruin her sense of style. Vanessa was seen wearing a stylish all-black ensemble that revealed her still-growing baby bump. Vanessa is married to Nick Lachey and the couple are expecting a daughter. They broke the news back in July.

Nick was also interviewed recently about parenting as well as his ex-wife Jessica Simpson, and he revealed that he’s happy they never had any kids. “She’s obviously happily married with two and I’m happily married and about to have two so it all worked out the way it was kind of meant to work out,” Lachey said.
