Set in modern times, The Passion depicts Christ’s last hours as he sits down to the Last Supper before he is betrayed by Judas.
In addition to Trisha Yearwood, other notables in The Passion include Prince Royce, who plays the disciple Peter. Tyler Perry will serve as both event host and narrator.
This isn’t the only “live event” that will air on Fox in the coming weeks. The network will air Grease: Live, starring Julianne Moore, Aaron Tveit, and Vanessa Hudgens on January 31.
The Passion is set to air the week before Easter, on March 20. The modern times slant might make this live event one worth checking out.
Trisha Yearwood is best known for her many years in the country music world. She is married to fellow country crooner Garth Brooks. She has also written some best-selling cookbooks.
