The Voice winner was crowned on Tuesday night with some fans no doubt in shock over who it turned out to be. Do note that if you haven’t yet watched Tuesday night’s episode via your DVR on a service like On Demand that the following content contains a spoiler.
Many fans believed Team Adam’s Christina Grimmie was a shoe-in for the title of The Voice. After all, she was the singer whose initial claim to fame was that of a YouTube sensation. It was highly anticipated that her fan base would allow her the necessary number of votes to surpass both Team Blake’s Jake Worthington and Team Usher’s Josh Kaufman. Clearly that was not the case on Tuesday night, however, as Christina Grimmie wound up the third place singer of the three finalists.
At that point many viewers were excited–not because Christina Grimmie wasn’t crowned The Voice–but because it was a complete toss up at that point as to which of the remaining gentlemen would win the competition.
Before the spoiler, let’s briefly recap the entire finale. The performances were spectacular, with all three finalists bringing back contestants from earlier in this season’s show. Big name performances included Tim McGraw, Ed Sheeran, Alabama, Robin Thicke, Coldplay, and more. Last season’s winner of The Voice–Tessanne Chin–also sang, belting out a tune in her sultry, strong voice that made her last season’s clear frontrunner long before she won the title.
Even though Christina Grimmie didn’t win the title of The Voice, she went on stage Tuesday night as a huge winner just the same. Among the high points of the early moments of the show was one in which Adam Levine told her he wanted to sign her to his own record label. She was shown backstage listening to his announcement.

Jake Worthington won the hearts of Americans for the umpteenth time during this season of The Voice when he announced he was going to give his Kia–a gift to the three finalists of The Voice–to his grandmother.
“Since she bought my first vehicle, this is my chance to give back to her,” he told Carson Daly.
So who is The Voice winner? It’s Josh Kaufman. His bluesy ballads and raspy falsettos won over fans enough to crown him The Voice winner. Congratulations to Josh and to Team Usher. For once in the history of The Voice, The Voice winner isn’t attached to Team Adam or Team Blake. Usher had fun sharing that fact with his Twitter followers.
