Texting while driving is pretty stupid. As is eating a sloppy burger while driving, or putting on mascara while driving. Basically, when you’re driving – you should drive. Distracted driving has always been an issue, but it has definitely vaulted its position from issue to all-out safety hazard now that everyone has a mobile phone in their pocket. Recent studies have suggested that nearly half of all driver admit to texting while driving, even though nearly 100% of them recognize that it’s wrong to do so. Go figure.
If you text and drive, you just might find yourself up to your eyeballs in a river of sh*t. At least that’s what happened to a guy in Grant county, Wisconsin.
In “hey, your metaphor is totally literal” news, 37-year-old Matthew Bruhn looked up from a spell of texting and driving only to find himself quickly approaching a tractor pulling a trailer filled with liquid manure.
According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Bruhn suffered a broken finger from the accident.
I don’t want to make light of another’s pain – but if this isn’t all a bit poetic to you…
Maybe Mr. Bruhn needs to sit down and watch Werner Herzog’s powerful new anti-texting and driving documentary. Next time, it could lead to something much worse than crashing into the back of a giant poop wagon.
