An Italian-led, year-long international investigation has led to the arrest of ten people suspected of involvement in an online child pornography network. Arrests were made Thursday in Italy, France, Portugal and the United states.
“The prosecutor’s office in Florence headed the probe, nicknamed ‘Operation Nanny’, in coordination with the European Union’s judicial cooperation unit Eurojust, and 112 other people are also being investigated,” reports the Agence France-Presse, via Yahoo! News. The child porn network, whose main server was in Dallas, included 700 members from 28 different countries.
Authorities were able to track down network members by tracing IP addresses from which pedofilic content was issued. A 52-year-old Italian man is the suspected ringleader.
Best of luck to police in their remaining investigations.
