Settlement checks for T-Mobile’s 2021 data breach have been delayed, with customers being told the payouts will be sent out.

T-Mobile agreed to a $350 million settlement in mid-2023 for a data breach that occurred in 2022. The breach impacted some 76 million individuals, and included customer names, SSNs, driver’s license information, dates of birth, and more.

Those impacted by the breach were originally told they would receive settlement checks in April 2025, but a notice on the settlement website says that date has been pushed back.

All court proceedings are now complete. The distribution of settlement payments is currently being finalized. Due to unexpected delays, we now expect the distribution of settlement payments to begin in May 2025.

No further explanation was given, but individuals should at least start receiving their checks soon.
