Sylvester Stallone was expected by many to win an Oscar in the Best Supporting Actor category at Sunday’s Academy Awards, for reprising his Rocky Balboa role in Creed.
When Mark Rylance won the award instead of Sylvester Stallone, for his role in Bridge of Spies, the shock was obvious on the faces of many Oscar attendees.

Arnold Schwarzenegger took to social media shortly after Sly’s Oscars upset, showing his support for his friend.
“@officialslystallone To me, you’re the best, no matter what they say,” the former California governor captioned a short video clip.
A number of Sylvester Stallone fans followed suit, reacting via Twitter to what many believed was an obvious snub.
So pissed right now that @TheSlyStallone did not win for Creed. An absolute travesty! #wtf
