Shia LaBeouf Reveals Alleged Rape During Art Installation

Shia LaBeouf arranged for a silent interview recently with a writer for Dazed, in which he and the reporter strapped Go-Pros to their heads and watched each other for an hour. But ahead of the interview, LaBeouf emailed Aimee Cliff about several topics, including his recent art installation in L.A., and the actor revealed he endured an assault during the event.

LaBeouf was given space at the Cohen Gallery in Februrary, where he sat in a room while visitors filed in to see his #IAMSORRY installation. The event came after several bizarre incidents involving LaBeouf, including claims from a writer that he plagiarized a story, and the actor reportedly cried and offered a table full of items that fans could hand to him when it was their turn to see him. According to Mashable, those items included “a bowl filled with tweets written to Shia, a bottle of Jack Daniel’s, a small bottle of Brut, a whip and pliers, among other items”. One of those visitors, according to LaBeouf, was a woman who assaulted him and then removed his clothing to rape him.

One woman who came with her boyfriend, who was outside the door when this happened, whipped my legs for ten minutes and then stripped my clothing and proceeded to rape me…There were hundreds of people in line when she walked out with dishevelled hair and smudged lipstick. It was no good, not just for me but her man as well. On top of that my girl was in line to see me, because it was Valentine’s Day and I was living in the gallery for the duration of the event – we were separated for five days, no communication. So it really hurt her as well, as I guess the news of it travelled through the line. When she came in she asked for an explanation, and I couldn’t speak, so we both sat with this unexplained trauma silently. It was painful, he reportedly told Cliff.

Actress Megan Fox, who co-starred with LaBeouf in Transformers, said in August that she didn’t think anyone should worry about LaBeouf despite his erratic behavior, although she admitted she hadn’t spoken to him in a while.

“I’m not worried about Shia. I love my Shia. He’s perfectly fine. I haven’t talked to him in a couple of years, but I don’t worry about him. He’s a brilliant kid, talented and funny. There’s no reason to worry.”
