  • Selena Gomez is definitely having a transitional year and it doesn’t look like she’s done making changes just yet.

Now, the former Wizards of Waverly Place actress may be looking to lay down roots in New York City.

On Oct. 7, the 22-year-old singer-actress attended the premiere screening of her latest film, Rudderless, at the Vista Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

While at the event, she took time to chat with Access Hollywood where she revealed she’s been thinking about going bicoastal, reports Yahoo! News.

“Taylor [Swift] has been convincing me for months now,” she said to Access Hollywood. “I might be [moving]. I think that might be the next step for me,” Gomez said. She also revealed she would “love to maybe move to New York for a little while.”

The “Love You Like A Love Song” singer also shared details about what fans can expect from her in the near future. She’ll be directing her focus toward furthering her acting career.

“People are now seeing me in a different light and I just kind of want to keep on that path because I love acting and I want to step out and challenge myself,” she said.

“I’d rather just pick myself up and keep going. I am young… I’ve been talked about since I was 14 and I feel like I’m okay with just allowing myself to just keep going,” Gomez said. “I’d rather just inspire people to just know that I would rather love what I do and just focus on that.”

She went on to reveal what keeps her so focused and grounded. The When the Sun Goes Down singer accredits her success to her tenacity and drive.

“I’d rather just pick myself up and keep going. I am young… I’ve been talked about since I was 14 and I feel like I’m okay with just allowing myself to just keep going,” she said. “I’d rather just inspire people to just know that I would rather love what I do and just focus on that.”

Rudderless will be released in theaters and through video-on-demand on October 17, 2014.
